Traveling along this dimly lit path
Trying to find a way to go
The worlds on my shoulders
My life’s at my feet
Struggling to see where the path is going
It’s getting darker and darker
I really can’t see
Every step that I take I fall
Everything sends me crashing
Falling to the ground
Then along comes a friend
To help me out
She shines out some light
Like an angel from the sky
The path is clear
I can see for miles
And now I have her
Help at my side
Someone to turn to
Someone to trust
She’ll always be there
But wait a second
This cant be true
Nothing this good happens to me
This must be a dream
A tricksy fantasy
So I tell her to stop fooling me
Get out of my life
You’re only a fraud
I can cope on my own
I don’t need your lies
So I break her to pieces
Leaving her battered and bruised
Broken wings on her back
Her light fading away
I struggle on walking
Every stride with pain
I try to forget who I left behind
The path is dark again
My journey unclear
Can’t see where I’m going
I try to make my own light
Try looking for a torch, a lamp, anything
A couple of times I fall
I didn’t think it would be this hard
But I start to see
That I made a mistake
I was sent an angel
And I broke her wings
So then it hits me what I have done
I realize it was real
It was no dream
So I run back
I run back along the path
Sprinting back to where I left her
Broken and stranded
I’m running, as fast as I can
My legs feel like they’re gonna fall off
But its worth it just to find her
And I find the tree that I left her by
She was there before
I swear she was
I left her leaning against this stone
Where is she?
Please don’t say she’s gone
I refuse to believe it
But know in my heart
She’s gone, there’s no bringing her back
I left her alone
When I needed her most
What a fool I’ve been
To have not realized before
I needed her here
I needed her by my side
But I just left her on the path
All alone
She’s gone, left my path
I wish she was here
To comfort my tear
I was given an angel from the skies above
But I left her stranded
Alone on a dark path
Left nothing with her but the broken wings buy her side
I wish I hadn’t left her, but sadly I did, and now she has died
